Florida statues require that every LLC or corporation has a registered agent, who will be appointed in the Florida articles of organization or Florida articles of incorporation.  A registered agent may be either:

     1.  An individual who resides in Florida and whose business office address is the same as the registered office.

     2.  A domestic or foreign entity that is authorized to conduct business in Florida and has the same business address as the registered office.

A Florida registered agent must file, in writing, an article of acceptance with the Florida Department of State.  The registered agent must file upon appointment at the same time as the designation.   A statement or acceptance as a Florida registered agent should state that the registered agent is familiar with the LLC or corporation and accepts the obligations of the position.

The Florida Department of State will maintain an accurate record of Florida registered agents and registered office for the service of process.  The Florida Department of State will furnish information in timely manner after a request has been made and Florida LLC fees or Florida incorporation fees paid.
